L-HM 46 anti-wear hydraulic oil

Product overview

L-HM 46 is a high-viscosity-index hydraulic oil formulated with imported multi-functional additive chemistry — anti-wear, antioxidant, corrosion inhibitor, demulsifier and metal passivator — in a deeply refined base oil. It is ashless, which means it contains no zinc dialkyldithiophosphate: copper-strip weight loss is nil, so the same oil can be used in vane pumps with steel-on-bronze friction pairs and in axial piston pumps without attacking the bronze.

It is the grade we quote most often for machine tools, injection moulding machines, presses and mobile hydraulics running in ambient temperatures where ISO VG 46 keeps the system between roughly 40 °C and 65 °C.

The formulation was analysed by SGS in 2015 (report SO15-03900.001). We still quote against those results:

Approvals and conformity

• Denison HF-0 / HF-1 / HF-2 — Parker Hannifin France SAS, approval No. 47011, covering L-HM Ashless in ISO VG 32, 46 and 68.
• DIN 51524-2 HLP and ISO HM performance.
• GB 11118.1 — Chinese national standard for L-HM.
• Oxidation stability ≥ 1000 h and FZG failure load stage ≥ 10, both measured, not estimated.

Handling

Store indoors or drum-on-side outdoors, out of standing water. Do not mix with other hydraulic oils without a compatibility check — two ashless oils from different additive systems can drop each other out of solution.
